INDIA SUMMER MISSION TRIP - A BRIEF REPORT
Friends, Donors & Partners- we just got back from Pakistan & India end of May, and had to almost take a whole week off to recover from the jet lags, the 10+ hours time zone difference, and the scorching heat with travel fatigue that we endured.
I recorded over 12 flight connection with travel stops in Amsterdam, and Dubai, some with long waits either at airports or transit hotels.
Our ministry work was done mainly in Hyderabad, Jangareddigudem, Chebrolu, and several rural Indian villages. With my takeoff base in the small city of Jangareddigudem, we were able to shuttle back and forth into these villages to visit
Widows and Orphan care centers for HIV orphaned children living with their grand-parents
The Little Angels' family home that houses some 10 orphans
The Chebrolu Boys' Orphanage & their neighboring homeless shelters/slum tent dwellers
The CH Jayamma Ministries Tailoring Institute where women are trained with a job skill to be good tailors and earn a living.
It was brutal as we did several daily outreaches into rural villages with bad access roads, and some programs at nights. In addition to sharing the good news of the gospel and praying for many, we gave away several charitable gifts to many that attended our gathering and in-home outreaches nearby any of our program area. The heat was extreme with temperatures in the 108-114 deg. F range. I sweated like crazy.
But thanks be to God for a partially working AC in the Van we used.
Overall, it was all good news with great results in terms of the responses to the gospel:
about 25 new professions of faith in Christ from fetishes; healing miracles for 5 people that publicly testified after my prayers for them;
dedication of 2 water well projects for clean water access;
toys for some 100 Vacation Bible School Kids in attendance all week;
over 350 food packages & clothing distributions with the outbursts of joy, & dancing - this was so exciting to see so many happy faces experience God’s extravagant blessings through your love and generous support.
We also saw and evaluated how the job skills training program of many young women at the various tailoring schools, the cooking skills program was helping develop these women; and
The Computer training that was impacting their lives with hope for a better future that will not only equip them to get technology jobs, but also transform lives and their communities.
